Recent Reads

Deja Demon by Julie Kenner.

This is the fourth in a series written by a Georgetown, Texas, resident. Kate Connor is a suburban mom busy attending gala fund raisers for her husband's political campaign, raising a teenage daughter and a toddler son, and preparing for a neighborhood Easter party for all the children. And on top of all of that, an old enemy has descended upon her town along with an army of the undead which she has to deal with unknown to her husband. Her other job is being a demon hunter ; she was trained by a secret group in the Vatican. All of the series are done with humor and are fun to read.



Strong Enough to Die by Jon Land.

Caitlin Strong is a fifth gneration Texas Ramger who is seriously wounded during a shootout along the Mexican border in 2004. Her partner at the time dies from his wounds. Five years later she is still dealing with the trauma and has resigned from the Rangers. A shattering discovery prompts her to reopen the previous investigation with the cooperation of her former boss who reinstates her as a Ranger.



Above the Law by Tim Green.

An illegal Mexican is shot to death on a ranch outside Dallas, Texas. The person who shot him is a Senator and rising higher in his political circles. The shooting makes the news and the Senator spins the truth about what really happened. Then the wife of the victim steps forward and tells a different story of the events.
