The Witches of Eastwick by John Updike.

In a small New England town, at the end of the 1960's there lived three witches - Alexandra, Jane, and Sukie. They're all divorced all succumb to his charms. Strange things ha and when a new man comes to town, they all succumb to his charms. Strange things begin to happen in the community and the residents who have lived in Eastwick forever, feel that the women and the new man have something to do with the incidents. A good story which was made into a fun movie.

The Widows of Eastwick by John Updike.

It's now over thirty years later, and Alexandra, Jane, and Sukie are now widows. They reconnect and decide they should travel together. After trips to Canada, Egypt, and China, the three women decide to return to Eastwick, rent a place to live for three months and see how the community has changed and if the townspeople remember them. Once again, some unexplainable events happen. I liked the author's portrayal of women in their seventies and late sixties.

Love in Condition Yellow by Sophia Raday.

The author was a Berkeley dwelling peace activist when she met an Oakland police officer (also a West Point graduate who as an Airborne Ranger and now serves as a Major in the Army Reserves). This is the account of their dating and the early years of their marriage and of her feelings when he had to go to Iraq.
