National Perscription Drug Take Back Initiative at the Harker Heights Police Department

National Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative
April 28, 2012
10:00 AM - 2:00PM

The HARKER HEIGHTS POLICE DEPARTMENT is participating with the DEA in the
National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on
Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

This program provides a venue for persons who want to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet.
Anyone wanting to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs can come by the Harker Heights Police Department located at 402 Indian Trail that day and dispose of them.

Other collection sites can be found by visiting www.dea.gov , clicking on the “Got Drugs?” icon, and following the links to a database, where they enter their zip code.
