How To Be An Awesome Pet Owner

How to Be an Awesome Pet Owner

1. Do your research before you get a pet! Check out books from your local library.

2. Make sure you have enough room for your animal, and make sure the space you provide is warm, dry, and safe.

3. Animal-proof your home inside and out, and make sure no one in your home is allergic.

4. Search for your pet. Consider adopting from the Harker Heights Pet Adoption Center, or other rescue centers.

5. Get appropriate supplies for taking care of your pet (food, bowls, collars, toys, leashes, etc.).

6. Avoid busy schedules and large crowds when bringing home your new pet.

7. Get your pets the appropriate vaccinations and keep them up to date.

8. Play with your pet a lot!

9. Train your pet and practice regularly.

10. If you do not want more baby animals, have your pet spayed or neutered!
