Soap Making Workshop- Sat. Oct. 2

Handcrafted soap is naturally full of glycerin, and is fragrant, bubbly, and amazingly softening to your skin. Create your own soap in this 4 hour class that teaches the basics of Cold Process Soap Making. Instructor Claire Grasse has been a soap maker both professionally and as a hobbyist for ten years. She is the owner of The Barefoot Gypsy soap company. Please wear old clothes and closed-toe shoes.

Every Child Ready to Read Caregiver Workshop

On Saturday, February 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. the Harker Heights Public Library is offering an exciting workshop designed to help get “Every Child Ready To Read®.” This workshop will explain what skills children need before entering kindergarten, why the skills are so important, demonstrate how to help children learn the skills, provide titles of high-interest books that are age appropriate, and will send you home with early literacy activities to incorporate into your daily routine. At the University of Mary Hardin Baylor
Parker Academic Center in Belton, TX


Sharpen your illustrating and writing skills with this full day conference. Enjoy workshops on mysteries, poetry, comic book art, storytelling, using technology, and more! Bring your own works to share with other illustrators and authors your age! Meet published authors and illustrators Vuthy Kuon and Salima Alikhan!

This year attendees will have a chance to submit their works for publication in a Young Authors and Illustrators Conference book published by Vuthy Kuon!

$30.00 per child; $20.00 for additional children in the same household; Children 2nd grade and below must have a
chaperone, but all chaperones and other adults are
welcome to attend with a child or children at no charge.
$20.00 per child for groups of 10 or more
$30.00 for each adult who is not accompanying a child or not volunteering at the event
